X integration
Keep connects to X (Twitter) in two ways: syncing your bookmarks automatically, and following users who publish long-form articles. Both require a paid plan.
Bookmark sync
Connect your X account to automatically sync your bookmarks into Keep as markdown. Tweet text, links, and full threads land in your feed without manual work.
Setup
- Go to your settings and click connect X.
- Authorize Keep to read your bookmarks.
- Choose whether to start from now or import a capped set of recent bookmarks once.
- Keep syncs new bookmarks in the background automatically.
What gets synced
Your bookmarked posts are saved into Keep. If a bookmark includes a link, Keep also tries to save that page so you can read everything in markdown later. Items already in your feed are skipped.
Keep does not promise a full historical X import. You can start from now, or do a one-time recent import with a fixed bookmark cap.
Sync options
capture links from bookmarked posts: when a bookmark contains a link, Keep also fetches and saves the linked page content as part of the same item.
expand bookmarked posts to full threads: when a bookmarked post is part of the author's own reply thread, Keep collects every post in that thread and saves them together as one item. This is useful for long tweetstorms and multi-part takes.
Thread extraction
When thread expansion is enabled, Keep detects whether a bookmarked tweet is part of a longer self-reply chain. If it is, Keep walks the full thread and saves all posts as a single markdown item with each tweet in order.
Threads are attributed to the original author and include the full text of every post. Embedded links, images, and quoted tweets are preserved in the markdown.
Article feeds
Some X users publish long-form articles (formerly Twitter Articles). Add an X article source to follow a user and automatically save new articles as markdown when they publish.
- Open settings -> sources and add a new source.
- Choose X articles and enter the username you want to follow.
- Pick a backfill option to import recent articles or start from now.
- Keep checks for new articles in the background and saves them automatically.
Credits
Each synced bookmark uses 1 link credit.
If thread expansion is enabled, each post included in that expanded thread uses 1 credit.
Capturing linked page content does not currently add extra credits.
Each X article imported via a source also uses 1 credit.
Disconnecting
Click disconnect on the dashboard. Your existing synced bookmarks stay in Keep -- only future syncs stop. You can reconnect at any time.
X article sources are managed separately under settings -> sources. Delete the source to stop following a user's articles.
